New Texting Service for RamTechie March 8, 2009

Beginning today, we will be testing a free texting service to enhance our technology classes at MVTHS. For now, we will be using it for reminders and extra credit. I will be able to text students and parents who join the RamTechie service. The texting service is free, but you will have normal text charges from your cell phone carrier. If you do not have texting service, you should not register.
To signup for the texting service and start receiving extra credit messages text “ramtechie” to 25278.

Some feel that there is too much objectionable material allowed on the Internet, wheras others argue that the Internet should be completely uncensored. Consider these two viewpoints and answer the following questions.
1. Should religious groups be allowed to distribute information over the internet? What about groups that advocate hatred or oppression?
2. Is there any material you feel should not be freely available on the Web?
3. If you think some regulation is required, who should determine what restrictions should be imposed?
Late Work and ELO January 5, 2009

There are two points that need to be emphasized at the beginning of the semester. First, late work is not acceptable. Work should be turned in on the date it is due. Work that is turned in after the due date will have 25% deducted if it is turned in within a week of the due date. After one week, the assignment will receive a zero and will not be able to be made up. Second, if a student is earning less than a C at the beginning of the week, he/she will be required to attend ELO on Thursday from 2:55 to 3:35.
I am stressing these two policies before we have any grades so that every student starts the semester on a positive note. All due dates will be listed on the calendars on the left side of this blog and all handouts are available at the top of this blog. Good luck on a great semester!!
